Police have released CCTV after an assault in Bolton that left a man in critical condition.
At 2am on Sunday 21 August 2016, one or two offenders approached a 46-year-old man on Bradshawgate near to the junction of Breightmet Street and punched him causing him to fall to the ground and bang his head.
The man was taken to hospital with a serious head injury where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
Police are appealing for information and witnesses and have released CCTV footage and images of two men they want to speak to in connection with the incident.
The first man is described as Asian, 20 to 30 years, stocky build, with black hair and a black beard, wearing all dark clothing and carrying a dark bag.
The second man is described as Asian, 20 to 30 years, stocky build, with short black hair and wearing a grey hooded top with dark coloured sleeves and hood as well as dark shoes or boots.
Detective Sergeant Iqbal Ahmed said: “The man was subject to a vicious attack and was taken to hospital where he is still recovering from this attack. Although stable, Paul is in a critical condition and he faces months of recovery. This incident has had a devastating effect on Paul and his family"
“We have released CCTV of two men we are keen to speak to in connection with the attack. I would also ask if anyone saw what happened or knows anyone who may have been involved to call police urgently.”
