Bradford taxi driver jailed for causing death by dangerous driving

    A Bradford taxi driver has been jailed for three and a half years for causing death by dangerous driving.

    Yasir Qadoos, was sentenced today at Bradford Crown Court for causing the death of Mohammed Zaman.

    The incident occurred on 13 June when Mr Zaman overtook Qadoos, causing him to lose his temper.

    He began driving competitively, resulting in both men racing along Thornhill Road in Dewsbury, reaching twice the speed limit and driving in a dangerous manner.

    After less than 30 seconds of the two of them racing, Mr Zaman lost control of his vehicle and crashed, launching him through the windscreen, causing him to sustain massive injuries and die at the scene.

    Qadoos was sentenced to three and a half months in prison for causing the death of Mr Zaman, and was also disqualified from driving for five years, extended for 21 months and required to take an extended test.
