Bradford Shop Owner Sentenced For Having Counterfeit Tobacco

A Bradford shop owner who was caught in possession of counterfeit cigarettes has been given a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £1,200 in costs.

Faud Aziz, pleaded guilty at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates to eight trading standards offences in relation to Zaks, in Leeds Road, Bradford.

38 year old Aziz had, the court was told, not displayed any signs warning that tobacco products could not be supplied to under-18s, or health warnings on some packets of cigarettes, openly displayed tobacco products, and had also breached the Tradesmark Act relating to counterfeit goods.
