Bradford city centre building cladding fire test

A Bradford city centre building has failed a government fire safety test for its cladding.

Bradford Council and West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service have conducted risk assessment tests on social housing and have urged private owners and managers of properties in the district to do the same following the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

The owners of Landmark House, which is seven storeys high and is situated in Broadway in Bradford city centre, have been advised that the building has failed a Government fire safety test on its cladding after a sample was sent off.

The council has been advised that there is no need to immediately evacuate the premises and increased surveillance of the property has been introduced.

It is believed the council will set up a meeting with residents sometime this week.
