Police investigating two firearms discharges in Bradford have disclosed that a weapon used in the discharge at Thornton was an automatic weapon.
Further enquiries into the incident at Hill Top Road has found that around 20 shots were fired into parked vehicles and an address in the incident, which occurred at around 2.00am on Friday, 20 October.
The use of such a weapon is rare in the UK and police have said they are keen to locate this firearm “so it can be removed from the streets of West Yorkshire”.
In a further development in relation to the other discharge which occurred in Undercliffe Street later the same day, a 26-year-old man from Bradford has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
A 21-year-old man who received a leg injury in the incident was treated at hospital and has since been discharged.
