A shop worker in Leeds was stabbed whilst detaining a thief.
The man received arm injuries in the attack at the ASDA store in Killingbeck at around 11.00pm on Monday night (5 March).
He was taken to hospital for treatment and was given stitches.
A 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene. He became ill as he was being transported to police custody and was taken directly to hospital. He is currently in a critical but stable condition.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct has been informed about the incident.
