Detectives in Kirklees are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Birstall last Monday, July 4.
The incident occurred around 3pm when a male entered the Ackroyd and Son Convenience Store on Leeds Road. He demanded money and made threats to the lone 64-year-old man who was working, before assaulting him with what is believed to be a crow bar. The suspect made off with an amount of cash towards Howden Clough.
The suspect is described as a mixed race male around 5"6" tall, of stocky build. He was wearing a grey hooded top, with the hood up, a black balaclava and black gloves.
Detective Constable Simon Thomas of Kirklees CID said; "I would appeal to anyone who was around the area on Monday afternoon who may have seen anyone matching the suspect description, or who has any information to speak to police. Enquiries are ongoing."
