
A youth is due to appear in court today charged in connection with a carjacking incident in Leeds.
The victim, a 35-year-old woman, had parked her black convertible Audi A3 in Iveson Drive, West Park, to make a phone call at about 7.15pm on Monday (28/11).
A man opened the driver's door and demanded the keys. She refused and was hit in the face with a large piece of stone and punched several times as she struggled with the suspect.
She was eventually pulled from the vehicle and the suspect drove off.
A short time later the car was involved in a collision with another vehicle in Butcher Hill but drove off and was found abandoned on Lea Farm Mount, Hawksworth.
The 16-year-old male, from Bramley, has been charged with robbery in relation to the incident.
He has also been charged with driving otherwise than in accordance than a licence and driving without insurance.
Two males, aged 14 and 18, and a 30-year-old woman, who were previously arrested in connection with the incident remain on police bail.
